Baer Swords School of Western Martial Arts

Meet the Founders - Baer & Kat Kenney

The two-person team behind Baer Swords - Baer Kenney (CEO, lead instructor) and Kathleen Kenney (co-founder, co-owner).

Open Baer Swords School of Western Martial Arts

Baer Swords is co-founded and co-owned by Baer and Kathleen Kenney. Baer is the CEO, founder and lead instructor - the sword on the floor and the author of The Joy of Sword Fighting. Kat is co-founder and co-owner, and she is who you're most likely to hear back from when you email the school - kat@baerswords.com is the school's front door for questions, event contact and everything on the operational side.

Two roles, one school

A small school lives or dies on the pairing between the person who teaches the craft and the person who makes sure the doors stay open. At Baer Swords that pairing is Baer and Kat. Baer's focus is what happens on the training floor - the classes, the coaching, the book, the school's whole approach to teaching sword fighting as an art. Kat's focus is everything that makes those classes possible - the ownership side, the operations, the tournament coordination, the contact points that connect students and event registrations back to the school.

How to reach us

The best way to contact the school directly is kat@baerswords.com - our confirmed operational contact and the point of contact on file for SwordStrong KC event details. If you want to talk to Baer specifically about teaching or the book, baer@baerswords.com goes to him. Either way you'll reach one of the founders, not an inbox that gets checked once a month.
