Baer Swords is dedicated to uplifting people through physical activity and the community of Sword Fighting, supporting inclusiveness, respect, safety, and joy.
A different energy from most fight schools
We push more towards health and fun while sword fighting rather than the win at all costs kind of feel. This has made the energy of the school much more relaxed and open to all kinds of people. That posture is why the same room can hold nationally ranked HEMA competitors and first-time drop-ins on any given day or night without anyone feeling out of place.
Why it matters for a school teaching weapons
A school that teaches people to fight has to be built on something more than technique. Respect for the weapon, respect for the person across from you, safety as a daily discipline - these aren't posters on a wall at Baer Swords; they're the through-line of how the school teaches. That's what "uplifting people through physical activity and the community of Sword Fighting" actually means in a classroom.
The values Baer Swords is built on - inclusiveness, respect, safety and joy - and what that actually looks like on the training floor.
